    WalaykumAsSalam brother,

If you could specify which restaurants are from Makkah and which are from Madinah that would highly appreciated. I will be going for Umrah this Ramadan and the last thing I want to do is open my fast with food that is not locally or internationally hand slaughtered. Jazkallah Khairan.

    Regards,
    Walaikum salam Brother,

In most of the restaurants (specially pakistani) they always use the same spoons and frying pans to cook all kinds food. So one should completely avoid eating from these restaurants. Even Daal or vegetable salan are also not recommended. Grilled fish can be a choice

I live in Kuwait, Two years back when i used to eat Daal (Lenten) from Pakistani restaurant, the cook fried the daal in the same frying pan in which he fried Qeema (minced meat) and i could see the traces of minced meat in my Daal. It was my last day of eating any kind of food from Pakistani restaurant.

    Assalamu Alaikum

Insha Allah I will be going for Hajj this year. I have been hearing that a lot of meat found in Makkah and Madinah is imported from abroad and thus doubtful according to some people. I would like to know which food places would be safe to eat from during my trip.

    Jazak Allah

What would be wrong with machine slaughter. Mufti Taqi refused to give a decesive fatwa that machine slaughter is haram?
And if he were to ask for a gentle lady in marriage, he would be refused, and when he leaves the world it does not miss him, and if he goes out, his going out is not noticed, and if he falls sick, he is not attended to, and if he dies, he is not accompanied to his grave.

Is the issue only about machine slaughter? I heard that a lot of the meat comes from South America and they don't know who slaughters the animals (even if it is by machine)

Meat imported from Brazil is hand slaughtered.

But we don't know if the one who slaughters is a Muslim or not nor do we know if the tasmiyah is recited. In fact, what has been reported is the following: a blade with the name of Allah is used for slaughter or a recording of the tasmiyah is played while the non-Muslim butchers hand-slaughter the animal. The only Muslim organization there is an Arab one and it has been noted to have its centers hundreds of miles from the slaughterhouses so monitoring of the slaughterhouse is faulty at best.

The Caribbean ulama have warned against these "hand slaughtered Brazilian meats" and also rely on local slaughter.

Is it required to say Bismillahi Allahu Akbar on every chicken? Or is it sufficient if he says it once?

The man has to slaughter 100s of chickens within limited time. A minute's delay would send a few chicken alive to the processing stage.
According to the ahnaf tasmiya would be obligatory on every chicken. The animal would be haram if the slaughter left out the tasmiya. Even if the judge would call it halal, it will still be impermissible to consider it halal, because consensus has reached on tasmiya being necessary. See the sharh of al-hidaya by Ayni under the chapter of dhabiha after the fiqh of buyu'.
