The Barelwis are not part of the Ahlus Sunnah. Bid'ah is a distinguishing
    feature of this sect.

Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuhu

Darul Uloom Deoband (also other institutions based on Darul Uloom Deoband ideologies) is sourced and referred to often. Inevitably, Deoband is based on the teachings of the Noble Qur'an and Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) as well as the illustrious Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Ánhum)

The Barelwi / Deobandi issue is an age-old difference which should have been buried a long time ago, but unfortunately some people will resort to mud-slinging. May Allah Ta'ala guide all of us on the right path.

I am sorry I did not pay attention, it matters because people outside the subcontinent who are not in contact with asian muslims generally need not to worry about what is deobandi or barelvi, reading stuff on the internet can confuse you, just my sincere advice, follow the ahlusunnah of your area..

After reaching 10 - 12 that would be closed too.

People don't use common sense. They just follow what they were taught. In my views read the books of every sects/maslak & then decide which one is right.

    Slm,

What to do if you have issues with sects to start off with? (I know both TJ's (Deo's) & (Brillo's) and take the good from them (sunnats - read Deo's) & leave the 'bad' (bidats (read Brillo's) & cultural practices (both groups included) as I do with most other manhaj (who may/may not be from the subcontinent.)

Well, Last year I took bayah from the Sufi Sheikh. So, whenever I have some problem I just ask him for the verification. It's better to learn deen from those who are in caves & jungles.
