Yes, there are many. Historically there have been many too. The majority of Muslims are Sunni and it is not considered as a sect rather, anything other than Sunni Islam is a sect.

You're opening a can of worms. Within Shiaism alone there are tens of sects. There are Mu'tazilites, Ahmadis, Nation of Islam, Baha'is, Salafis, Ibadis, Mahdawis, Kharijites, the list can go on. Some of these sects are not considered as Muslims.
