Exclamation Attn Bangloreans! Maulana Riyaz Ur Rehman Saheb has passed away in Makkah today.

Just received this sad news from my friends in B'lore & KSA that Maulana has passed away today sometime after Fajr namaz in Makkah, he was Imam of the Jamia masjid in Bangalore since ages and among the most well respected Ulema in South India. He is a Qari too.

May Allah SWT forgive him, grant him maghfirah, grant him Jannat Ul Firdaus, grant him aafiyatt from now until Jannah. Grant sabr to his family. Summa Aameen.

If there are any bangloreans here in Sf, they should know more about this.

I found some bayan's of Hadrath ra on youtube, please note he is one of those 'superstar' ulema whose bayan's have been recorded very diligently since ages, and almost all of his bayan's are on the topic of islaah or self reformation. You can find his bayan's on bhatkallys.com

Hadrath ra also used to run a madrasah which provided both deeni & dunyavi education* in a deeni environment for the needy or for those who cared, also he started many technical workshops / english speaking classes aimed to provide employment / upgrade skills of the poor muslims and also for the madrasah students

^For those stupid idiot people who think 'Deobandi' ulema's / or ulema's of the sub continent or south asia suppress female education < this is just a small example of the effort being put.

Inna lillaahi wainna ilayhi raajioon. May Allah grant Hadhrat the highest stages of Jannah.

I take it Mawlana had just performed Hajj. SubhanAllah, what a way to become the beloved of Allah.

    Assalamu alaykum

    Copy and paste:

He had gone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Born in Gonibeed village, Mudigere taluk in Chikamagalur district, he had graduated from a premier Islamic institution from city, ‘Sabilur Rashad’. He was famous for his eloquent speeches (mostly Khutbaat-e-Jumma), and religious columns in local Urdu newspapers.

He held the position of Imam O Khateeb of the famous City Jamia Masjid in the Bangalore for many years. He successfully transformed the Masjid into a centre of Islamic activities for the overall reformation of society following on the lines of Masjid-e-Nabuvi. Maulana’s services in the field of unity of Muslims, education, economic upliftment, and empowerment of Muslim women through education will be remembered.

His contribution in promoting unity amongst different Muslim sects is worthy of mention. He always discouraged sections of Ulama and people from distinguishing Muslims on the lines of their Masaalik(sects). He advised and encouraged promoting of unity among all the Masaalik of Muslims on the basis ofUmmath-e-Waahida (One Community). He used to say, “Let them follow what is dear to them as per theirMaslak while you follow what you think is right. No one can and should judge others’ faith. Still we can live together peacefully and promote unity of all. This is the basis of Deen (Religion).”

Apart from holding the position of Imam-O-Khateeb he served many social and religious organizations in different capacities including Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz, Milli Council, and Jame-ul-Uloom institutions.

Many leaders from Muslim and non-Muslim communities have condoled the sad demise of Maulana. Condolence messages are pouring in. A few prominent among them are Maulana Sirajul Hasan, former Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maulana Qadeer Ahmed Ada-ul-Amiri, Abdulla Javed, State President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Masood Abdul Khadir, Convenor, Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz and Syed Hamid Mohsin, Chairman, Salam Centre.
