Sis, if you ask me, a huge part of seeking ilm is to go through the mujahida involved, if we read the seerah's of the past ulama, they have traveled across different lands in search of ilm, deoband, mazahir al uloom, miftah al uloom, and dabhel, they all at least don't charge a single paisa from their students, they even provide hostel facilities, even food, many outstation students [not just from developed countries] study at deoband, so the least one can do is travel.
deoband (including the others listed above) as far as I know and from what my bro tells me, is sort of the old world madaaris, no wonder tabligh among the masses was started by one of its faarighs, those places [deoband, saharnpur, gangoh, jalalabad, thana bhavan, etc] still![]()
(allahumma barik fihee) retain their old world charm, these Madaaris/Ulama stress upon mujahida unlike others, which is why its fame resounds all over the world even today, so I don't think one will be able to persuade them to officially at-least put their duroos online.
Other than that, yes, I do agree they need to make full use of the net, they still aren't doing that as much as they should, but thats just my opinion, these ulama are much much more smarter than we think, they have by the Grace of Allah SWT, have been able to ward off many fitnah's that were designed by the kuffar and modernists muslims to break these madaaris. So there is deep hikmah even in the way they do things.
I do have some lectures recorded by my bro, but they are random, if you or any users want to have that, I can upload. Next week.
plus:
Women (with their mahram) can visit DU deoband, mazahir, jalalabad, thana bhavan, etc I think maulana talha [son of ml zakariyya rh] even has a separate guest room for women where you can meet the shaykh's wife, spend time, have food, talk to shaykh saheb over the phone or letter, get naseeha's and stuff. same at deoband, same at nizamuddin. one can even visit the library, i'm only saying all this so that our women can experience it too. my mom (my parents) will actually be traveling to these places in about a month or sowhen I visited thana bhavan, I felt I had moved back in time, its that good even now.

He has written a book "The Truth about Hadith", perhaps it would shed light on this.
