Just a few updates from South Africa

1. The build-up to the Ijtima in Azaadville is in full progress. The Ijtima will commence on the 6th of April 2012 at Jumu'ah and terminate on the 9th of April after Ishraaq. There is alot of fikr from the brothers of Azaadville and the surrounds to prepare for the Ijtima. Duas are requested.
2. Mawlana Noorullah, the khalifa of Mufti Mahmood Hasan was on a long-week tour visiting many Masajid of Johannesburg and the surrounding areas.
3. I had the opportunity of attending a Zikr and Naath Majlis of Hafez Muhammad Patel of Durban (s/o Mawlana Yunus Patel ) and Qari Dawood Seedat of Pietermaritzburg on their visit over the weekend to Pretoria and Johannesburg. It was inspiring and spiritually uplifting :alham: They held 3 programs in total. All are available at www.taqwa.za.net and www.khanqah.co.za
4. The visit of Shaykh Mahir al-Muaqily, Imaam al-Haram, commences today at Mayfair Jummah Masjid and tomorrow at the Qira'at competition finals at Musjid Shafee'. There has been alot of discussions since the Majlis articles last week.

SASLAMS you forgot to list the Moulood that took place in Florida this past weekend.

The report (sent to me by Bro SASLAMS ) is as follows:

The Musjidul Aashiqeen Jamaa'at held their first Mouloodun Nabi programme on Saturday March 17 at the newly built musjid.

The Moulood was well attended by the local community and those from neighboring suburbs. The masturaat arrived at 9am to begin the traditional ' Rampies sny ' whilst reciting sweet salawaat alan nabi. This lead them through to Salaat al Thuhr. After salaat ath Thuhr lunch was served.

Thereafter the men folk began there programme with Sweet salawaat alan nabi being recited as well as an-nasheed. The gathering was skillfully orchestrated by Imaam Ikraam Dedericks of Eldoradopark with the Sallie family members leading the athkaar and salawaat. Thie being the main programme for the Maulood, ended just before salaatul Maghrib. Shaykh Nusrat then addressed the congregation after Maghrib after which the days programme concluded.

Masha Allaah, nice to hear that the Malay (mostly) brethren are keeping their traditions strong here in JHB. The gadat, moulid etc. have been keeping Islaam strong in SA for many centuries.
