When i began practicing, i was impressed by a GM(Ghair Muqalid) brother, very learned, dedicated and unlike the fools we see today, therefore i followed him. Then a brother took me to Zar Wali Khan(db), and i sort of didnt like him to begin with :P. The same brother introduced me to the books of Ameen Safdar Okarvi(ar), which essentially helped me with the GM(ghair Muqalid) issue and Mufti Taqi Usmani's(db) Legal status of a Madhab, His book Authority of Sunnah helped me when i was deciding btw Orthodoxy and Quran Only earlier on. May Allah keep the Shade of Ulama upon our heads. Ameen. Alhamdulilah it has been an experience so far.
