We don't wear a Tie therefore its ok to wear a Silk Tie

Someone told me that is permissable to wear a tie made of SILK because we don't wear a tie .... its not part of the shirt .

I don't adhere to this view but just wondering what to really say this person?? Apparently Zakir Naik propogated this view.

About moving this to the QA section...Well this wasn't intended as a question of whether or not we can wear silk tie. I know the answer and ruling from the ulema.....

I wanted to discuss how to handle these type of situations and how to explain and if there was any diff. of opinion on this to these ppl..

Just show them the reasoning behind this via sunnipath or some other source and explain to them not to follow their nafs.
