With due deference to Mufti Sahib's seniority and knowledge, our 'ulama really have to raise the level of discourse beyond what was displayed in the aforementioned talk if they wish to present a viable alternative to the ever-expanding salafi da'wah. The modern layperson, having been exposed to articles, books, videos, and lectures from people from across the spectrum of schools of thought, is far more sophisticated than his pre-modern counterpart, so such rhetoric, although it may be effective with villagers in India or the most die-hard Deobandis on SunniForum, will be considerably less so with people sitting on the fence, and this is only further aggravated when you have people like HH lying in wait to dissect any argument Deobandis may put forth.

The modern layman in many places reads and hears a lot of things from many resources and thus will not be very impressed with such a talk. Like mufti saeed saab with all due respect accused shaykh albani rh of being a jewish agent/convert to islam when this is furthest from the truth. We don't need to bunch below the belt. There is a lot of evidence against salafis and SOME (not all) of their arguments and these should be used.

First of all Mufti Sahab is not addressing the laymen. This talk was delivered to Ulema of Hyderabad in 2007. His request to ulema was to up their game.

Harris Hammam will not be defeated easily. I don't see many deobandis up to the mark to be honest. His arguments generally have a solid basis and though we may not agree I still give the guy credit. I know people who know him very well and they have nothing but praise for the guy. The only problem I have with Harris Hammam is his lack of adab and I don't believe that being a keyboard warrior will change the world. He needs to do something more productive with his time then write zillions of refuations on IA. I'm sure Harris Hammam will read this...bro the time is very close when we will meet but I don't think I will tell you who I am. By the way Haris give my salams to my dear friend Ustadh Alomgir Ali who also teaches at Tayyibun. You could learn a few things from him bro!!!

Brother the whole world knows shaykh albani was not a convert and his ideas were not some 'sajish' of the jews as claimed by mufti saeed saab. If such discourse was given to ulema then it is even more worrying.
