They are worried about "riyal flow". On Hanbli bashing, they will be thrown to seas. May be some time later money flows out of Indian sub continent, they may stop hanafi bashing and take up hanbli bashing.

I have heard calling one salafee group calling other salafee as mushriks. Also swords and daggers were out on each other.

recently i heard one bayan from a salafi aalim. seemed an unbiased one. MashaÁllah, he urged the gathering not to take fiqh into their hands. Leave the rulings from quran and hadiths to the ulema. He gave many examples to the gathering where rulings have to be taken based on experiences, situations, locations etc...
Seems some have realized their mistakes of re-inventing the wheel.
BUT, they still cling to the title of salafi.

how are salafis not hanbalis?

Seems to me that they follow hanbali fiqh to about the same degree as modern day hanafis follow hanafi fiqh. why fight over such trivial issues. im sure the greatest affliction facing the ummah is not salafis saying they follow hanbali fiqh (which is true to be honest, they do follow hanbali fiqh mainly although some are shaafi, maliki or hanafi, even some dhaahiris, and also some "qur'an and sunnah" types in indopak

salafis call us blind followers, they equate us to a dog on a lead. but how come they always quote Ibn Taymiyyah in majority of their articles, aren't they doing taqleed of Ibn Taymiyyah then?

some salafis are hanbalis and some salafis are not. following a weak position in the madhab does not take out of the madhab. only pak/indian scholars are strict and dont really do take weak opinions. you should go meet shafi, maliki, hanbali and non asian hanafi scholars and you will see thedifference.

I'm not sure it's really a new thing for Salafism in general (The original Wahabis were Hanbalis, after all), but it is a new trend for Western Salafism, which 5 - 10 years ago was primarily concerned with fiqh and was largely influenced by Ahle Hadith and Madkhalis (both being anti-Madhab).

Nowadays, many are far more concerned with reviving pseudo-anthropomorphic beliefs of some Hanbalis, which is why this new breed is much less venomous when it comes to fiqh and even tasawwuf, to a degree.

In the end, it all boils down to a group that, while vastly different across its many iterations, always opposes Ahlus-Sunnah in some way or form.

salafis heavily emphasise the need for scholars actually. A lot of misinformation is around regarding salafis. Im sad to see people still havent dropped their hostility to salafis. Perhaps the muslim world crumbling all around us is too boring and people would rather debate with their brothers on trivial issues.

salafis are opposed to piirs and craziness what you find in indopak, they dont have an issue with scholarship, laymen making taqleed, or following a set of usool in fiqh or having difference of oppinions. Indopak "hanafis" have probabily left more of imam abu haneefas oppinions than salafis did of imam ahmad. More to the point, its non of your business what oppinions they follow as long as they are established oppinions within islam

western salafis have always been concerned with aqeedah and personally one of the things taht always bothers me about this site is peoples harshness towards salafis being more severe than the oppisition against clear cut mushrik sufis.

more attacks on "la madhabis" than barelwis. Barelwis have serious deviations in aqeedah, contradicting the very kalima itself. the primary message of islam is to eradicate and purify the sharing of any of your worship with others besides Allah. yet salafis seem to be the public enemy number 1. Just reminds me to stick to the salafi groups and not get involved in deobandi groups because ultimately they will always hate you as long as your salafi and will hate you more than mushrikeen which is complete ghuloow in my oppinion
