Halal & Haram
This was one of the hikayath's told by a gentleman in mashwara before hyderabad ijtema in shaheen nagar during the 90's
there a was a wealthy person who wanted to give some money in charity
he went to the masjid and met the imam there and expressed his desire to spent the moeny in charity
the imam told the rich person to go out of the masjid and give it to any peson whom he meets first
the rich man went outside the mosque there he met a blind beggar, he gave the 1000 dirhams to the blind person. curious on what this blind person will do with the money the rich person folowed the blind man, to his surprise the blind man was not at all blind he was just pretending to be blind
the rich man was shocked then he follwed him as he was spending the money in haram things he bouhgt and consumed alcohol after that he went to some prostitute and spent all the money. the rich man was furious . but since he has already given the money he could not say any thing to
the blind man he wnet back to the mosque and compalined it to the imam saying i followed ur instructions and gave the money to the first person
whom i met out side the mosque. but unfortunatley that person was not at all blind he was acting like a blind one, i followed him and saw that he wasted the moeny, i gave him, in doing bad deeds. the imam listend to him and kept quiet then he took 1 dirahm from his pocket and gave it to the rich person and told him to give it to the first person he meet outside the mosque and then follow him and see what he does with it and report
back to him. the rich person went outside the mosque he met a nice gentelman who was not at all looking like a needy person. At first the rich
person hesitated to give the dirham to this gentelman but since the imam has told him to give it to the first person he met. he went near to the
gentleman and gave the dirham to him.to his surprise the gentelman accepted it graciously. the rich person was shocked again as he was not
expecting this from a gentleman to accept 1 dirham. he then secretly followed the gentleman the gentleman after taking the dirham changed his
path he was going back on the path from where he was coming not knowing that the rich person was following him. he crossed all the houses in
the town after some time he was on the outskirts of the town where the garbage & wastes are thrown there he took a dead chiken from his bag and threw it in the yard and was returning back. the rich man who was following this gentleman was confused he was unable to understand what
is happening. he caught hold of the gentleman and asked him what is going on. the gentleman then told the rich man that he and his family were
starving for three days as they could not find any thing to eat and that this is the 4th day so he went to the garbage yard and found a dead chicken so as to eat it and stay alive.
(one can consume Haram provisions if he or she is on the verge of starvation and the only food available to him or her is food which is ordinarily
Haram. Allah states in Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:173):"But if one is forced by necessity, neither by desire nor transgressing, it is no sin upon him. Surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful!").
But when i was taking this to the home you met me and gave me 1 dirham for which i thanked allah and abondoned the idea of consuming haram
that is the reason i went to throw the dead bird and was about to buy some halal food for my family. the rich person left the gentleman there and went back to the mosque and met the imam . he told the whole story about the gentleman but he was confused.he asked the imam to explain the
things he was witnessing. then the imam told him the money u have brought was earned by haram means and it got wasted in haram means the
moeny i gave u was halal and alhumdulillah it is utilised in halal way.
