Default Arabic teacher needed.. SISTERS ONLY

    Asalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,
I have reverted to Islam for over a year now, without my family knowing. I've had help from a sister with my prayers and du'as. We started qaida nearly a year ago, but for some reason we hit gridlock. Now she's busy, she doesn't have the time to teach me. I would really like to complete the qaida and insha'Allah start reading Qur'an in Arabic soon. If there are any sisters who would be interested in teaching me qaida, I would be very grateful.
I would prefer the sister to live in London, as that's where I am based.
If possible, the sister has to be free on weekends, as I have school on weekdays, and weekends are the only time I am free. Or during half term too.
If you need any more details, then please reply to this post, and insha'Allah, I will get back to you.
Please sisters, I really want to get back on track with my Islamic learning.
    Jazakallah khayr.

    Asalaamu alaykum,
I am based in North London, near Seven Sisters (I don't know if you're familiar with that area), but I'm not too bothered about where the sister is based, as I'm flexible with that.
    Would you be available?

Sister, you also have the option of signing up with one of those online Qur'an tutoring sites online and learning via Skype.

Just google search "online Quran tutoring" and you will see plenty of sites offering. Not all but many have female teachers available for sisters as well, so that's what you will be looking for.

I personally know of qurantutoring.com because a brother I know has been taking classes with them. He loves his teacher and says that the teacher works with him heavily on tajweed (proper pronunciation). Masha'Allah he started reading from qaida originally a couple of months ago and now he is reading Qur'an and he is able to recite with proper tajweed Alhamdulillah.

This is not an "advertisement" for this site but rather I'm just explaining an available option which is good. Also I know a couple of Muslim parents who are having their kids tutored in this manner (online via skype) but I don't know which companies they are using. I was quizzing one of their kids on random simple tajweed rules and I was impressed with the kid's knowledge Masha'Allah, which means the teachers are good Alhamdulillah. I would think Insha'Allah all the sites offering this service will have qualified teachers and will be good. Most of them offer free trials (usually for 3 classes) so you can try one or two and see how you like it. They also work with you to teach you other dua's, kalimas, salat, etc, so that's a plus.

Prices are also reasonable from a "western" perspective. If you break it down into rupees (most seem to be based in Pakistan), then Subhan'Allah they are making some cash, but that's not our concern as long as the teachers are qualified, genuine, and you accomplish your goal of learning to recite the Qur'an as it was revealed to the Prophet by Allah .

    I am not a scholar.

    Asalaamu alaykum,
Jazakallah khayr for your contribution brother. As I am a secret Muslim, I don't think it would be a wise idea for me to have online Qur'an tuition as my mother could easily come into my room during my lesson, for example or check my browsing history. It is a very good idea though, and if I could, I would have probably gone for this option, but at the current moment, I don't think this could happen..
    Jazakallah khayr anyway.

    Assalamu alaykum secret Muslimah,

Masha'Allah it's amazing to hear that such a young sister like yourself has secretly accepted islam. May Allah make it all easy for you and guide your family too. Ameen
I would be more than happy to help you with qaidah and qur'an recitation with tajweed insha'Allah as it would help me practice too, I live in East London and i go to college as well as islamic studies so it would have to be weekends and holidays too which is ideal for you .. I do have exams and that coming up but i would love to spare some time out to help an amazing sister like you who has so much love for the deen. Let me know insha'Allah.
    Wassalam

Wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu sister,
Please forgive me for the late reply, I've haven't been on this forum for a very long time due to exams etc. My final GCSE exams will be in mid-June, so if you're available during that time, please let me know insha'Allah, as I need to get back on track before Ramadan.
