Maripat - kindly write it in urdu for me please. Deers Leap Wood is the name of a place and therefore a translation of the words I dont think conveys the meaning. The full text is below:

    Deers Leap Wood

@ br Maripat for the rant. it was inspiring. I have always had a fear of losing the little Urdu knowledge I have; the post gave me the push I needed to start reading an Urdu book again.

sorry for being off-topic. It would be helpful if someone can give me an authentic islamic urdu website where I can copy the text (that means it should not be in pdf format as I cannot the copy text) and try to transliterate to improve my urdu reading skill.

    @ All sisters and brothers,
Assalamualikum Wa Rehmatullah i Wa Barakah

I had to be away because of getting busy with nursing of my elder brother who suffered a terrible gas poisoning accident. He had to be hospitalised for more than two months.Thank Allah that he is improving now and I am able to resume normal life again and am,therefore back on the sunniforum.
The basic question posted originally by brother Soulful needs to be discussed. Translation from one language to another language is a very tricky and professional matter. We will need to discuss this matter later on.
The original text as quoted bt brother Soulful is
    '' Deers Leap Wood
Your local nature reserve behind Portland Pavilion Social Club off Portland Road . To visit and learn more, please contact [name of person].''
The original text as quoted by brother Soulful has many problems which makes translation difficult and even impossible.
It is not the words which are translated but the meanings. The phrase ‘ Deers Leap Wood’ is meaningless. It is/ should, in fact, be “Dear Leap Wood” which can be translated into Urdu as:
پیارے لیپ وُڈ or عزیزی لیپ وُڈ میرے
How do I say that it is /should be ‘Dear Leap Wood’ and not “ Deers leap Wood’’.
1.There is a clear hint for everyone there. I got the hint. It is there loud and clear. Try to find it.
2.Then there are more mistakes in the original text. Can you identify them?
I will be back after I see how friends respond (Insha Allah).

Some suggestions in the English matters thread in the General forum made me to write this. I do agree that the English matters thread be restricted to English as per the title but then I am really interested in improving my Urdu. I am very below average student in this regard. As I was interested in reading and understanding urdu and thus helping me to better grasp some urdu verses as I hear in bayans or when I read some sayings of pious buzurgs, I was kind of happy with urdu input in that thread. Now that the thread was restricted to English, can Mazood sahib and others like him kindly help me and those who are like me to improve our urdu in this thread? I did ask in another post in this thread but perhaps it was overlooked. I hope this time people would kindly consider my request. JazaakumAllahu khayraa

    I agree, a good idea.

BTW, there's a series of books that you can look into (if not already). When I was in first year alimah course, we were given the books titled "Achhi Baatein". They start out simple and keep building up. The books are all Islamic, topics from Allah, His Qudrat, the Prophets and the 5 pillars of Islam. Our teacher would also give us a line from the lesson to write out as many times as the lines on our page... even one mistake and that line was to be rewritten, on the whole of the next page! But that way the Urdu writing was forced to improve.

I am sure you will be able to read Achhi Baatein. When I started, my teacher had no clue I had no clue how to read Urdu... so if I managed to read the first book at least (without too many scoldings), I'm quite sure you can as well, .
