    Default Darul Ulooms

    Salams.

I have just started 6th form, and I was thinking of applying to a darul uloom. I was wondering if anyone could tell me of darul ulooms that do A levels. Also what are darul-ulooms in South Africa like, I may go there after 6th form to do hifz in a quick time, so if anyone could give me info on hifz classes run there.

    Jazakallah

    Assalaamu Alaikum

My husband's madressah, Madressah In'aamiyyah Camperdown, is very good in Hifz, but i don't think they do A levels etc. They have very good Qari and Huffaz her, though, and many learned Ulama like Mufti Ebrahim Desai and Molana Imraan VAwda, and a Sheikhul Hadith Molana Haroon Abbasomar. Sheikhul Hadith's son, Molana Mohammad ibn Haroon Abbasomar is one of the best Alim in the whole South Africa when it comes to Arabic Grammer. they also get many great personalities who visit them like Sheikh Sulayman Nadwi, Molana Asad Madani, Mufti Nawaalur Rahman, etc...

I think the link given above might help you with info, but if you want more info you can email askimam@yahoogroups.com

I am aware that there are many darul ulooms in the uk, however I was wondering if there are any that offer A level courses as well.

    Jazakallah

Those that try and mix a-levels with the islamic studies, dont usually do so successfuly.

I would agree with br Yusuf, it is rather hard to do both academics and alim course together. (telling from experience) You can always complete the academics later, insha Allah

I think its much wiser to complete academics first then decide how and where you're gonna study. Speaking from experience and the fact that I've seen and know of many brothers who've been abroad with the best of intentions but just havent been able to cope- cos they're too young, inexperienced, and unsure about their future.

Its natural for us young dudes to constantly change our minds(well, i, atleast think so)- but thats not a good idea after you've decided to come abroad for example- if you cant hack it, decide to go back, you'd have wasted a lot of money and more over loadsa time.

Like Shaykh Hamza said the deen didnt intend everyone to become scholars.

Yes Darul 'Uloom Bury do sixth form, and Darul 'Uloom Blackburn do A-levels too, there are in partnership with a college, so that would be better.
