Global Recovery Under Threat

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which represents the world's richest nations, also lowered its growth forecasts.

This thread aims at having an assessment of economic dynamics of the world so as to make up your opinion in the light of Shariah.

At present the world economy is in very bad shape in the sense that growth economy has hit its worst phase in the history of economy lead by western capitalism.

From capitalist point of view the news is disastrous and from Islamic point of view the news will be bad.
Bad in the sense that some belt tightening will have to be done.

Economy is everbody's business everybody is affected by it.

Everything happening in this world is a Muslim's business. In every Friday Sermon we hear that this world was created for us. This means we got to poke our nose in every affair of the world. Unfortunately we have left the matters of the world to those people who at least do not worry about religion or at the worst are against Islam.

When we leave any affair for too long a time then we become prone for punishment of bad doings of others - even when we have not directly responsible for the disaster.

Thus the current global economic disaster in making is sure to affect Muslims too. Some people will remember that Burj Dubai became Burj Khalifa because the Dubai ruler had to borrow lots of money to avoid financial crisis and this tells us that the oil regimes of the gulf are not safe at all from the global economic weather.

What can happen and what is the current situation is thus our business to know.

Know it and prepare for the near future.

This world was created for us, but muslims prevented for years to catch the power, by many means -psychological, physical, unless we were collaborating with non-muslims - the residual of colonial past... I say collaborating as it is different from making business and cooperating. What is going now in world is scary, but may be it is preparation for different future, inshallah

PS: Yours truly had started this thread to invigorate the discussion on topics related to business, economy and finance here at SF. There are many brothers who are associated with these disciplines and it has very strong bearing on the state of Ummah. Since this is not the field of expertize of yours truly it might not receive much attention on my part henceforth. But in view of its importance this discussion should be kept alive at SF.
