It is gaining taqwa. At this particular point in time in my development, I feel closest to this mission when I am out in nature - observing, learning, feeling my insignificance and just feeling immense awe at the Love and Mercy in everything unaltered.

Community is a close second for me in gaining taqwa. It is through interactions (work and rights) with everyone and everything that insha'Allah we move towards the ultimate Success and gain a place in jannah.

I think for any Muslim; be it man, woman, or child (of age, of course); the most important thing is firm yaqeen (belief) in the kalima La iLLaha iLLAllah, Muhammadur Rasulullah (None is worth of worship except Allah , Muhammad is His messenger).

After that, comes the responsibility of 5 daily salat.

Without these 2 things, one can't call themselves a Muslim (may Allah forgive me if I'm saying anything wrong here).

Hijab, beard, knowledge, taqwa, spreading the word of Islam, the other pillars, etc, Insha'Allah come later as a result of having the above mentioned 2 things firm & solid. Without the basics, you ain't gonna have anything else.

Moreover, it is not just saying the kalima and knowing the literal meaning of it, but rather understanding the reality of it and what it brings with it. Similarly, it is not just knowing the words which are said during salat, or knowing the physical movements, but rather knowing the reality of salat, and trying to bring that reality into our lives. This takes an entire lifetime, even then we would be fortunate if we understand even a fraction of the reality of just this kalima tayyaba and salat.

    Allah knows best.

    I am not a scholar.

Say Allahu-Akbar when you see this.

    Salaamu alaiykum
I don't really have good knowledge, but I would say knowledge (e.g. 'aqeedah, tawheed etc.) is the most important thing. Aren't the scholars the ones who truly have taqwa? Wasn't the first revelation Iqra? Isn't that what differentiates us between Christians? Isn't that the thing which is emphasised alot in the qur'an, speaking without knowledge? Isn't knowing how to worship Allah more important first than to actually do it? How many people have strong faith in something false? It does exist. But does that benefit them? Not really.
    And Allah knows best.
    Salaam

    I agree.

I just take taqwa to be part-and-parcel of the shahada and salaat as well as all other aspects of the deen. Knowing what it is you are testifying to and what it is you are doing during salaat, and being righteous, believing and being conscious of Allah (SWT) when performing both.
