Salaam which history books about Islam are really good and trustworhtly (not biased or anti islam etc), because i am looking for a good book about the history of Islam, which books do you recommend me?
I like info about everything of Islam history, like the jihad and crusades times, muslim spain, the art/science/medical influences of islam, political issues etc.
All these things about Islam i think are important to know, to understand the history of our fait,
which history book about Islam do you recommend?
i was thinking about 'the spreading of Islam' by T.W. Arnold ( a non-muslim)
many Islam sites talk good about this book, but i wonder which books there are more about Islam't history and which do you recommend?

,'Muqaddimah', which I feel is more concerned with the processes of history) would be Marshall Hodgson's, 'Venture of Islam' (in three vols.). A kind of in-depth overview of the history of Islam. Being from a non-Muslim its not really concerned about partisanship, but attempt to be 'objective'. It wont harm if you skip the chapter on The Prophet
. It was also tipped-up by Sidi Hamza Yusuf as being the best book on the history of Islam (at least in English).
