    Default The ABCs of Arabic

Just got the links to a wonderful Arabic course - thanks to brother Godilali.
    Here is the link.

    BOOK 1 : DVD 1 PART A
Learned the following things from first few minutes.
    (1) There are only twenty eight alphabet. This because Alif is not a consonant. Consonant is Hamzah.
    (2) What is Alif doing under Hamzah? Oh it is just serving the purpose of chair for Hamzah.
    (3) Some times Hamzah also uses Waaw and some times Ya as a chair. You see it needs support.
    (4) And some times it feels strong so it, that is Hamzah, occurs on its own.
    (5) And if you do not understand some of the things now then do not worry - you shall feel more confident tomorrow, (IA).
    (6) There are eight parts of speech in English. Noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, proposition, conjunction and interjection.
    (7) How many in Arabic? Only three. Noun, verb and article.

Set a two-year goal for yourself to finish all three books. You'll be amazed at the end when you look back and see how much progress you made, inshallah. Learning Arabic is not difficult; it just takes time and consistency.

There is a book called The Midnights Children. In first few attempts I got struck around pages 66 to 75. But ultimately I did finish the book. Now I do not feel intimidated by those people who howl that I criticize that author without reading him. Now he is my mujrim for life.

On a positive side of literature - I am facing the same problem with Hazrat Ali Miyan (RA)'s Nabi-e-Rahmat.
    Let us continue anyway.

^ I think the message was 'persevere'

There was a book called Hidaayatun Nahwa. It boggled my brains, and was the only class I ever accidently fell asleep in. I never actually finished it, but that's another story.

Is there any audio files rather than videos that one may learn Arabic from?

ps. I am moving the thread to the Arabic Forum.
