If you look at the history of the Jews in Europe they faced a similar problem -
at one time they were all wearing beards and their women covered up, they prayed a lot and ordered their lives according to what they understood to be the Torah and according to the Talmud, but this seemed to make living with the European increasingly difficult as they became more 'modern'...
then a guy with views like your came along called Moses Mendelssohn, he was worried about the problems the Jews faced in Europe and his answer was that they should adopt Western ways and become like the Europeans in practically every way except having a vague 'wishy-washy' modernized 'Jewish' religion that fitted in more easily with 'modern' European life...
he founded a 'reform temple' and from this root various sects of Jews emerged who nearly totally abandoned what they had previously believed to have been the correct Divine Laws (Shariah) for them to live by - to the extent that most of the Jews alive today have abandoned the vast majority of rules of their religion and have just become like the non-Jews in nearly every respect...
did he save the Jews or simply remove most of them from what is actually Judaism?
he made it easier for them to live in the West, but only at the cost of them loosing their religion...
now with the Jews it did not matter so much because by rejecting the last two Prophets of Allah they had already become misguided...
but Islam is the fully correct way that Allah has ordained for human beings until the day of judgement
- if what happened to the bulk of the Jews happens to the bulk of the Muslims it will be a sad day indeed.
