    Default Covering face during salah

Inshaallah I am planning to visit my native place by train(around 36 hours jurney).I wanted to know the ruling of covering face ,and direction of qiblah during salah. Should I cover my face during salah infront of non-mehram while traveling. What if I won't be able to direct my self in the direction of qiblah if I know direction of qiblah because of train's seat orientation.

It is permissible to pray salaat with a niqaab (face cover) on.
Maybe you could purchase a Qibla compass, or if you know roughly the direction on the Qibla from India (west, north etc.) it could help you figure it out. InshaAllah someone more knowledgeable about this can help.

if one dont know the direction of qibla, he/she should do what they can to find it out such as tell other people if they know it; basically if after all they could do they're yet not certain, then they should just figure it out best as possible and pray in that direction; in this case their prayer wil be correct even if they got the direction wrong, and praying with niqab over face is allways permissable, wether in view of non-mahram men or not

Assalaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,
What about when travelling? i thought if u were travelling (like in a car or airplane or something) and didnt know the qibla direction, u just stay seated the way u are and pray, facing straight and theres no need to reposition urself since the vehicule will keep turning, so ud be turning with it either way. and isnt there a hadith about the Prophet (SAW) praying while on his camel? or did he have the camel facing the qibla while he rode it? sorry if im mistaken.

Wa Alaikum As Salam wa RahmatuAllahi wa Barakatu

if one dont know the qibla direction while on a transport, and it is not possible to find out before salaah times end, then the above ruling should apply, that a person figures out as best as possible the qibla and prays it that way; if it is not possible to face qibla direction before salaah times passes [even if they know it] then they can pray in any direction; fardh salaah has to be prayed standing up and one can pray sitting down if the former is not posible, but if they can then they should sit down in a position where they can do ruku and sajdah with forehead on ground; one dont have to stand up and pray while in transport if it is a non-obligatory salaah

the hadith in which the prophet [saw] rode on a camel and prayed, was a nafl salaah so he did not need to stand up nor face the qibla for one dont have to face the qibla on transport iether, but facing qibla [if possible] is a must if it is a fardh salaah

ps: in order to pray nafl in the sitting position and not facing qibla... one has to be outside his hometown and not while within it; also in Nafl Salaat The Ruku and Sajdah should be made by lowering the head (it should be lower in Sajdah than in Ruku). One should not make Ruku or Sajdah by placing the head on anything.

The driver could also perform this Salaat as long as he does not endanger his life or the lives of his passengers.

Are men permitted to cover their faces (like for example from the nose down in case of illness) during salah?

There are no restrictions upon what else may be covered besides the awrah (except for the feet below the ankles, which should not be covered from above, such as when wearing an izaar/shalwar/pants/robes).
