Where Can I find CREDIBLE biographies on the sahaba???

As-Salamu Alaikum,

I am desperately trying to find a way that I can learn more about the life of the sahaba without really dipping into my wallet because I am a college student and I can't really afford some of the prices for books I see online. Inshallah eventually I will get my hands on them but for now, also since I am time constrained, I am looking for a more well rounded synopsis on the sahaba's characteristics, accomplishments, and iman.

I search on youtube for videos and articles online but I am nervous to really believe what I am watching because these days you don't know if it is a non-muslims in disguise or even a shia lying about some of the sahaba. So if any of you can please give me some links and references it would be much appreciated. I know the basics of the Rashidun Caliphs and Generals I have a basic knowledge of who they are and their characteristics but I need to know more and also the other great sahaba.

I know it is a long list but I am sure if you all give your input together it will amount enough information on all of them. Im looking for articles, stories, lectures, hadiths, and if there are good books available let me know so I can put on my list.
