Who is Mufti Hashim Boda?

1. Does anybody know him personally?
2. What is he like?
3. Do other ulama hold him in high esteem?
4. Where did he study and who are his teachers?
5. Does he have any mureeds outside South Africa, in particular UK?

A brother I know is interested in taking up islahi relationship with him.

Mufti Hashim Boda is the Principal of De Deur Darul Uloom, South Africa. As far as I know his main teacher is Maulana Maseehullah Khan (rahmatullahu alayh). He studied at Jalalabaad Darul Uloom in India.

With the limited contact that I have had from him he is very strict with regards to adhering to the Sunnah. I have not had any personal dealings with him so cannot comment. He also takes out a monthly journal titled, The Shariah.

Mufti Hashim Boda is also quite close to Maulana A S Desai (Editor of The Majlis).

That is all I know.
