Please correct me if I am wrong! Doesn't the word salafi translate to originator or progenitor? Does Kitabul-Haque refer to us as Muslim? Why do we feel the need to call our selves something other than Muslim when Allahu-subhanahu wa ta 'aala has given us this name? Finally why do my Muslim siblings that insist on calling themselves salafi spend so much time finding fault in others? If we were such a people that made no mistakes then why would Allahu 'azawojal have created istigfaar? If salafi means progenitor then there are none alive today. I love this ummah, even those who do not love me back!!!

I understand what you are saying.I have a salafi 'friend' who is always trying to get me to be salafi as if only they are the true Muslims.It gets on my nerves but I still like her.They are still Muslims and so are we.

Salaf - Predecessor.
Salaf al Saliheen - Pious Predecessors. Term used to describe the first three generations of Islam; Sahaba, Tabi'un, Itba' al Tabi'in.
Salafi - One who follows the way of the Salaf.
