When is the best time to make du'aa?

As salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,
I've always learned to make du'aa at the end of prayer, but when my brother went to jamaat he said everyone said their du'aa after fard. And I also heard that you should say ur du'aa when you do sajdah. So what time is best? When did Rasulullaah (SAW) make his du'aa?

There are quite a few times. Your brother is right that it is best to make du'a right after fardh. Another time is when it is raining.

I meant what time is best in salaat? as in while ur praying, would it better to make ur duaa at the time of sajdah, or after youve completed ur prayer? or would you say it both times?

In the Hanafi madhhab, it is not permissible to make du'a in sajdah in fardh salah. The best time to make du'a is after the durood and the du'a must be in Arabic and if I recall correctly, it also must be a masnoon du'a. If none of these criteria are met, the salah is invalidated. In the nafl salah, it is permissible to make du'a in sajdah but it is still disliked.

Does the duaa have to be in arabic? im talking about duaas where ud wish for wtv u want, for example to get a good mark on your test or a new pair of shoes. What do the other schools say about it? are there any hadiths or anything else that tell when the Prophet(SAW) made his du'aa?

Salah is invalid if anything during it is said that isn't Arabic. There are many du'as for asking for worldly things, one of the most comprehensive of which is "Rabbana aatina fid dunya hasanatan wa fil aakhirati hasanatan wa qinaa 'adhaab an-naar".
