No follower of Allah rasool denies their word or deed, the question is all about interpretations or mullah spin. They attribute to Allah rasool certain things that cannot be true no matter what. This is why the quran should be looked upon at a different level than other riwayaat. Only if we are reasonably sure that certain reports are ahadith of the prophet that we should do so otherwise we are attributing lies to the messenger of Allah.

Islam is mainly a general set out framework for guidance of ummah and humanity and not as detailed as mullahs would have us believe it. The constitution of islam is only and only the quran not hadith. Hadith are only about telling us how prophet lived up to constitution of Allah in his time in his situation and circumstances. This is why ahadith serve for us as an example as to how to make sense of the quran for our time and circumstances and thus implement the quran as constitution.

This is why far too much emphasis on each and every word and action of the prophet is not right in context of prophetic sunnah. Sunnah is something that is adoptable in context of freedom, justice, fairness, compassion, brotherhood, progress and prosperity for muslims. Any word or deed of the prophet that conflicts with these rules is not sunnah rather that is something prophet had to say or do due his situation and circumstances at the time. For example, he had to travel by camel or horse or donkey. He had to use weapons of those times because he had to live by his time just like we have to live by our time.

This is where mullahs need to be educated or discarded because if mullah do not educate themselves and do not adopt with time and instead try to pull ummah back then ummah has to lose out as it did precisely due to this backward mindset and attitude of mullahs.

If we do not try and take mullahs in the direction that we all should go then they will surely take us in their direction which is where we are. It will be very interesting to read old fiqh books to see where mullahs have stopped us from progress and prosperity. Most recent examples are use of loud speaker, blood transfusion, landing on moon, body parts transplant and so many other things. In other words there are ample examples of how we ruined ourselves by following our mullahs despite knowing better. Even today many phds still take same stand on things as if they are worse than mullahs.

The fiqh books are proof that our mullahs have been making religion as they went along in time. So the idea of follow the quran and hadith was always a window dressing for mullahs but they had their own objective to achieve instead of establishing islam in the land.

I wonder why people do not read the quran critically to see what it really says rather than following mullahs blindly and condemning anyone who tells them anything different from mullahs. We therefore must get out of this mindset and attitude because it is destroying us as a people unless that is what we want for ourselves ie harm and destruction.
