Yep, but as one wise moderator sister once said: at least this is a healthy addiction (or something to that effect).

i didnt think there was such thing as a 'healthy' addiction
having said that i was a net freak!! Alhumdillah im moving away from it and dont visit sunniforum like i used to - first thing in the morning when i woke up and even went to the extreme of sleeping really late as it was the last thing i was doing before sleeping

Well alhamdullilah I can say I'm not addicted in the least, weeks even months will go by without me even clicking on this website. It cannot be a healthy addiction, whoever said that needs their head checked. It is so sad to see that there are people who actually LIVE here,Iwon't name names. What a waste of life! How can sitting on one's bottom for hours on end, daily partaking in qeela waqaala, cyberfights between this or that group be healthy?? Spiritually or physically it is damaging to one's health. Go out exercise, get a social life and see the wonderful world out there o ye recluses!

It is a healthy addiction compared to other internet time wasting websites. Although there is much to say on this forum, you do learn new things day by day. Some people don't have much contacts in the real world (like women) so SF becomes a healthy alternative.
That being said, we must learn to live without this forum ie no stress if servers are overloaded
Wassalamu 'alaykum.

High level post. Internet forums sadly take place of actual community. Also the level of knowledge gained here is superficial at best, without any real depth, and must be verified before one should follow it, since there are hardly any ulama here any more that post. Shaikh Nazim Mangera, how I miss you! At least I have his brother close by.
I am not addicted either, but have had some tendencies in the past to other websites. I agree with what you have said, unfortunately the real social world out there lacks a community...there are not many opportunities to meet with like minded people who one can meet and discuss things with and I live in one of the most Muslim populated cities in the world. Much of the discussions one is forced to participate in are superficial and do not feed the soul or the intellect.
