The author of the above simply needs to be accurate and precise regarding exactly which scholars had problems with which narrations and why. There is a mention of Imam al-Dhahabi's status in the science of rijal, but we are not told exactly which narrations Imam al-Dhahabi deemed inauthentic and why he did. Once that information is available, then one can seek more regarding the why.
