He is a Muslim. I actually know someone who got married to him. I don't think he wants to publicly announce he's a Muslim.

Even if he is Shiah if he has become Muslim it is a great thing for him.

As he is someone coming from a background of being a politician I suspect that if he has become a Muslim he will be of the sort that refuses to be classified on any sectarian basis and who likes to make their own personal understanding of the religion. I have no basis for saying this apart from knowing Muslim reverts of a similar background to George Galloway's.
