I was struck by thoughts of the communal in the last three verses of the Surah. I'm not sure how to word this or whether it is a question or not but I guess I would like to get it out there and perhaps get some feedback or guidance in this regard. I apologize if there is a thread that covers this though I did search before creating this one.
When praying salaah, I feel a strong urge not to limit any part of it to myself (except where I testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allah (SWT) and that Muhammadis His messenger). I feel a strong urge to think about the communal "we" from start to finish. Am I making sense? All praise belongs to Allah (SWT), all worship is to Allah (SWT), all guidance is from Allah (SWT), all relief is from Allah (SWT), all prayers are to Allah (SWT) alone - He alone is worthy of worship and praise - WE worship him alone and WE seek His guidance - I testify there is none worthy of worship but Him and that Muhammad
is His messenger. 3/7 verses with 'we' - isn't that a strong indication of the importance of community? (rhetorical question really)
Don't know what else to say... there's a lot there but it just isn't coming out in words. I read through the commentary for the Surah in Ma'ariful Qur'an but couldn't find anything that deals specifically with this. Any suggestions on what to read, listen to, or watch that deals specifically with the communal in Surah Al-Fatiha?
