Default About reciting duas after ruku?

    Assalamu Alaikum.

I've a question for Maliki, Shafii and Hanbali brothers as what I'm going to ask is not found (as far as I know) in Hanafi fiqh.

Is it a normal practice in any of the three above-mentioned fiqhs that after the ruku of the second raka of fajr salaat, Imam recites duas raising his hands while in qiyam? Actually, I am not feeling comfortable because never prayed like this before, but if any of the madhabs other than hanafi justifies it, I'll be pleased to get informed and will pray behind Imams doing so with pleasure.

I also want to know that if this is a valid practice then what should a Hanafi follower do during duas?

    JazakAllah khair.

As for Maliki's this is the du'a of qunut (which the hanafi's pray with witr) which is prayed before or after ruku` of the second rakat of salatu'`subh (fajr). It is considered a mandub part of this prayer (some also say strong sunnah), though raising the hands for it is not necassary. The Shafi`i's, I dont remember their exact position in fiqh on this. But in my experience is that they perform this du`a, though with a different wording. So I would appreciate if there are any Shafi`i's who can elaborate for us. Also I think the Shafi`iyya recite this aloud, for the Maliki it is preferable to recite silently, though the option remains for audible recitation. This du`a is to to be recited especially in times of war.

I think a Hanafi `alim the best to answer your final question. But I would be interested in the answer.

    With Peace

Brother, as you may have noticed our Islam Q & A section is closed here at SF until the scholars answer all the questions waiting there to be answered. It is almost Ramadhan and our limited amount of scholars on board are quite busy. This section of the forum is not a proper place to ask a question, that needs to be answered by a scholar. , it would be best if you direct your question to other Islam Q & A sites. Below are few that we recommend.

    http://sunnipath.com/

    Hope you understand.
