This subject matter is very sensitive. I don't want to elaborate my points, otherwise this thread will be derailed by fruitless arguments. Here we go...
"X" (I'm not indicating me) wants to marry.
He is a decent looking young guy who wants to lead a simple, Halal life in order to follow Salaf. He has a sincere intention to establish a Deen-based family.
Now, these are requirements of girls' guardians:
Alim: I only want Alim to marry my daughter. I don't believe ghair Alim although he is a Tablighi.
Tablighi: I need a guy who earns a fair amount of money. Also, he should be a Tablighi.
Now, what shall "X" do? Should he indulge himself into semi-Haraam or doubtful jobs to earn "fair amount" of money? Should he sacrifice his cherished desire to lead a very simple life?
