Default To marry or not to marry that is the question

This subject matter is very sensitive. I don't want to elaborate my points, otherwise this thread will be derailed by fruitless arguments. Here we go...

"X" (I'm not indicating me) wants to marry.
He is a decent looking young guy who wants to lead a simple, Halal life in order to follow Salaf. He has a sincere intention to establish a Deen-based family.

Now, these are requirements of girls' guardians:

Alim: I only want Alim to marry my daughter. I don't believe ghair Alim although he is a Tablighi.

Tablighi: I need a guy who earns a fair amount of money. Also, he should be a Tablighi.

Now, what shall "X" do? Should he indulge himself into semi-Haraam or doubtful jobs to earn "fair amount" of money? Should he sacrifice his cherished desire to lead a very simple life?

Find some Muslims who love the Ahkirah more then they love this dunya.

It's sad too many Muslims have become more about money and titles then anything else.

(Again for clarification, by "X", I'm not indicating me.)

You've got the point, sis. Muslims who love Akhirah more than dunya mean two categories- Ulama and Tablighis. I've mentioned attitudes of both. Its reality which I've heard from a plenty of sources.

Brother don't mistake me. Why should one look at a family who are better position than himself. Life will be comfortable if one marries a girl from a family who is at lesser status than himself. For that one need not indulge in haram and need not put effort on this duniya and earn a fair amount of money. Both husband and wife can live with zuhd.

Hazrat, family of lesser status of our country expects more than some pious family with higher status. Believe me, they always think that, we are not so rich. So our daughter should be married to a rich guy. Hence this option isn't suitable at all.

Read what Moulana Shaykh Zakariyah RA has advised us on choosing a girl in fazail-e-sadaqat.
Every aspects of Deen Islam are present in their own position. But this is us who are adding or rejecting on the basis of our nafs' requirements. Zuhd has gone out of concern. There are many anti Zuhd logics such as- "Earn much money, spend much money for Deen", "Poverty may bring Kufr" etc. Those are said just to justify his unnecessarily huge income.
