I am a bit confused about when one ought to make "masah" of their neck in wudhu.
When I was reading Absolute Essentials of Islam, I came away with the impression that one ought to rub their neck AFTER making "masah" of their head but BEFORE wiping their ears. This is also inline with what I was always taught.
However, when I was reading Taleem ul Haqq, it said, quite clearly, that the rubbing of the neck should occur after the wiping of the ears.
Now my questions are:
1) Are both methods "masnoon" according to different reports within the madhab? If so, is one preferred over the other in the eyes of most authorities?
2) If one is correct and the other is incorrect, which one is the correct one?
3) If one is incorrect, what do you think explains what do you think explains why this mistaken statement was made given how elementary a matter this is?
Furthermore, when answering, please bear in mind that I understand that my wudhu would be valid either way but I am interested in knowing what the proper Sunnah or Masnoon sequence is AND if this is something that is disputed within the madhab.
Jazakallahu Khair.
Wa'salaam.
