So Bro abd7861 you had a maulana/shaikhul arab to guide you through?

Erm mods could you kindly give Bro abd7861 my (i.e. Abul Lais) e-mail?

    Jazakallah to mods!
I have the good fortune of working in the hospital where I developed a friednship with a doctor who had studied Arabic and knows how to read fluently. He assisted me as and when I became totally stuck which was more often than not.

Mods, please provide me with Brother Abul Lais's e-mail.

I studied the Arabic Tutor books also with a teacher, as for doing things on my own i did alot, i've been over arabic tutor twice on my own, im currently powering through the madinah arabic series online im in lesson 30 + now...but stopped recently due to other commitements, iv read through half the book so far of al-Qira'atur Rashidah on my own and still reading it, iv been over arabiyyatu bayna yadayn twice for general speaking, iv also been over the sarf books strengthening my gardans and other rules.. But what has helped me is putting myself in the deep end, by reading alot of complex things, i would have two arabic dictionaries at hand by doing these stuff i picked up a fair bit of understanding...once you know how to break down a sentence then the rest will come in due practice.

Yeh maybe the mods can give my mail to these two brothers please, Abu Lais and Abd7861
It is reported from Abu Umamah from the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi WaSallam) that he said:

    اتَّقُوا فِرَاسَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْظُرُ بِنُورِ اللَّهِ

Wa'alaikum salaam to al zayn and abd7861, May Allah grant us knowledge of arbi and MOST IMPORTANTLY make it beneficial for us in the akhirat, ameen. (remember abu jahl was an expert in arabic!)

I am planning to order Lisan ul Quran Vol. 1 - 3 (with full ans key set) from albalagh.net/bookstore based on the recommendations of our self-studied Arabic master Sunni_Student786. He's got quite a few praises for Lisan ul Quran (even over Arabic Tutor series!)

    May consider checking it out.

MODS please give me these 2 brothers e-mail PLEASE. JAZAKALLAH.

Is there anyone in the same boat as me, either planning or already self-studying Arabic?

It would be great to form a study circle, just to share ideas/books etc etc. and pushing each other along the way.

Doesn't matter if we are all at different stages, can still guide each other...

    Any1? Jazakallah.

P.S. Brothers only - Sisters are most welcome to form their own study groups...
    Excellent idea. Sign me up.

It really is restricted but if you visit learnarabiconyourown.forumotion.com and post in the "Guest" forum which is open to all ( http://learnarabiconyourown.forumotion.com/f2-guests ) and mention a little about yourself and your experiences with Arabic or your goals, I think that the Admin may be open to letting you join as well. The forum is going to be kept small (maybe around 15 people) to ensure that only dedicated, motivated learners are present who can learn from each other without their experiences, insights, questions, etc. getting lost into a big abyss as can happen in some larger forums.

Regardless, just post in the guest forum and things will go from there insha'allah.
