Default Is Lisanul Quran teh BEST for self-studing Arabic?

    As stated in the title...

Not trying to fuel yet another debate on "who's-the-best-arabic-shaikh" but being in a relatively remote part of the world with little of orthodox Islamic scholarship, I need to get all my books from US/UK/Indopak etc by post. and shipping charges usually exceed the book costs!!!

So if I were to get only one set of Arabic books for self-study, should I go for Lisanul Quran form albalagh.net? It seems better than Arabic tutor books NOT due to the content (of which I know nothing about) but because of the answer keys. The full set is about US$80 with shipping to my place..

    Jazakallah

I would have to agree that because of the fact that it has an answer key, it is probably the best option for a self-study student.

Furthermore, Arabic Tutor is available for free online so you can benefit from it as well.

But again, I would recommend starting out with at least Book 1 of the Madinah series using the videos at www.lqtoronto.com and the book "Fundamentals of Classical Arabic Volume 1." You can do both books concurrently as they cover different topics and can probably finish both comfortably in about 4-5 weeks.
