Default Some urgent umrah questions that you will probably know the answer to i think

I can't find the answer to any of these questions in the umrah guides I have, so here I am asking them!

    1. Do you have to have wudhu when doing tawaf and sa'ee?

    2. Are there any family areas in the khana kaaba sharif where families tend to sit and do ibadat together? (I relaise that therre are areas where majority women sit but as a man i would be out of place there with my wife!)

    3. What's the best way to get to the cave of Hira? Taxi outside Haram? Then how long does it take to climb up and down? and what to do when up there?

    4. I heard an alim say once (forgotten wherer!) that if a woman is directly infront of u in one of the jammat namazes then the man has to repeat his namaz!
Could anyone provide any more detail on this??

    Assalamu Alaikum,

This thread was moved from the General Islam section to Islam Q&A Hanafi fiqh section and I have therefore edited this post to remove my reply as members should not answer questions in this section.

    walikum asalam,
    many thabnkjs for ur reply.
i find it very surprising that in no book or guide that i have come across does it say that wuzu is needed for tawaf or saa'ee.
why don't these guides include this very important point? its weird that they leave it out isn;t it? even the fesabillillah guide does not include it. its good i checked on here! and why wuzu for part of umrah (tawaf) and not the other part (sa'ee). it seems odd doesnt it?

so that means if you vomit during the tawaf u have to leave the haram go and do wuzu and then come back ansd start the tawaf number that u vomited in right? so if u vomited in tawaf no.3 u have to rejoin the place u left within tawaf no.3?

...aswell as my above questions about vomiting and tawaf, can an alim please clarify the point below:

    1. do you HAVE to do 7 tawafs everytime outside of umrah? or can you just do say 3 tawafs and have a rest or go back to the hotel? And do you HAVE to read two rakats nafil after EVERY 7 tawafs?
(again i cant find any of that in my umrah books!)

We are in process of organizing this section so that only Ulama answer and then the answer are approved by Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb. InshAllah you will get your answer in a day or two's time. Please be patient.

I am answering the questions since you are leaving right away. I will leave the 4 question out for now since there is lot of tafseel on it and I need to get Mufti Ebrahim's opinion on the issue.

...Wudu is a requirement for Tawaaf. Therefore, if your wudu breaks during Tawaaf, you will have to renew your wudu and start the Tawaaf again. However, if you have already done four or more rounds, then you need not start again; instead, continue from where you left off. As for Sa’ee (going from Safa to Marwa seven times) and Wuqoof Arafah (standing in the plain of Arafah), wudu is not a requirement....

Theres no special place but you can sit in the mataf area with your wife and do ibadat there.Other than mataf there are many places where one can sit with his wife but avoid the women only places.

    3. What's the best way to get to the cave of Hira? Taxi outside Haram? Then how long does it take to climb up and down? and what to do when up there?
Take a taxi from outside haram. it will cost around 20 riyals. It takes approx 1 hour to climb only. Make dua when you are up there and remember me in your duas.

The issue is that of mahazaat. I will confirm Mufti Ebrahim Saheb's opinion on the issue and let you know.

I have discussed the issue with Hazrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb.

He said that the mahazaat issues is not much concern when going for Umrah. The women will be in their separate area.

In Hajj times make sure that there is no woman to your immediate right or left or exactly in front. He mentioned that from his experience, it is not hard to avoid it.
