Salaamu alaiykum
I think we should remind ourselves that we should be easy going with the reverts. After all, they have made tremendous sacrifice (more than most of us will ever understand) and are still suffering and trying to improve from their bad upbringing instilled into them, plus the after effect of leaving everyone you loved behind to attain this goal. For us to judge them and give them the same standards as born muslims is a tad unfair in my perspective. Infact, it is this sort of behaviour that causes many reverts to convert back to their own ways - anyone can crack under zhulm and isolation.
ASA,
Not all reverts had a bad upbringing (so that's not an excuse, even if they had.) If you have been muslim for a number of years then you should know that adaab is to be applied. That said I have seen 'born muslims' act more harshly than bro Revert2001 has...

I don't think it was fair to ban bro revert.... unless there's some post/thread that he started in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping and we don't know about it.
Our Lord! Take us not to task if we forget or fall into error. (2:286)

As someone who is probably banned for the most number of times, putting aside the reasons and if they conform to the rules or not; I get emails from other members for their support (to my cause) and I personally always STOP them from such actions. The reason is that the Mods/Admins have a job to do and do it to the best of their ability.
Firstly you have assumed that Brother Revert didn’t do anything wrong in the absence of Admins/Mods being forthcoming and setting the case for his ban (for public scrutiny) hence being presumptuous.
In an Islamic setting a person is given the chance to defend themselves and also to question the leadership of an organisation and the decision making process and not the ones who execute Shura decisions so I request that you don’t make life hard for those who are doing a job (in difficult and tense circumstances); if you wish you should “positively” engage the leadership on the top but since that can’t be done leave the matter for Allah (SWT) on the day of judgement.
I emphatically know that the Mods/Admins of this forum do feel the pain (and do get hurt) when they are doing a job and honestly it’s not their fault because it’s their job to make judgement calls and as per human nature some judgement calls will be right and some will be wrong.
I also know that the vast majority of times my ban has been overturned earlier by the direct intervention of Ameer or someone and almost all of those times I did deserve the ban.
By taking such actions you are putting undue pressure on other Muslims (i.e. Admins/Mods). There are other ways of addressing issues (Islamically, legally and common sense wise) and in the absence of those avenues available to you (for recourse) leave the matter to Allah (SWT).
This is not the Islamic behaviour to start a revolt against “judgement calls” because it will spread anarchy and chaos and make Mods/Admins second-guess their “judgement calls” and hence interfere with the smooth operation of this forum. By their very nature “judgement calls” mean that some people will agree and some will disagree.
Positive engagement is to engage with the leadership and bring in transparency and that has been the call of Ulamah all over the world and this forum is no different.
Putting undue pressure on frontline staff is never the way to achieve efficiency or process improvement and although it is not your intention but your result of your actions is exactly that.
