You stole my words there. Yeah how are they hidden?

I need a reply to my earlier post too in which I talked about SSL certification, encryption and limiting access to threads from Google and other search engines?

Since you are not sitting in the shurah or mod shoes, you do not know what security issues were compromised. This is the jist of it. Members only see whats visible to them. They do not know about half the people's real names. Online forums are the worst place for socializing. It is best way of anonymous propagation. So, just like you would not jeopardise your neighbour being sent to some confinement due to your actions, We too do not wish to cater for such discussion that would jeopardize our members.

They are hidden to public. but that does not mean that an intelligence probe cannot hack into them. If you guys are really sure of these security measures being 100% fool proof, then thats for you guys. I cannot vouch someone's freedom or life for that.

i guess thats fair. if one is endangering their own life and freedom thats their choice. but shouldn't include others in it.

boys should now head towards al-qaeda and related forums to discuss jihad.

So no jihad related discussion on Sunni forum from now on or are there any limitations to the extent to which we can discuss?

    but seriously guys.

I dont understand this line of thinking. Just because we delete "anti-tj" thread, the forum becomes "pro-tj". Another time we delete "pro-tj" posts/thread and suddenly we become anti-tj. We delete Jihad thread, we become anti jihad. We stop people from making gheeba of some sufi sheikh, and suddenly we are anti-tj pro tasawuf. and if Allah forbids if by some fluke we allow Some sufi sheikh's refutations etc. Suddenly we become the anti sufi!. It goes on and on. I have been seeing since last 4 years.

Why not lets make a point clear. The forum is initiated as a "academical" forum. That is primarily the theme throughout. Engage and use it as a means of learning and practicing. When I was in Madrasah, throughout 7 years was not taught many fields of islamic studies. That doesnt mean that those fields were not part of Islam. It just meant that they were not part of the curriculum there. I can still go somewhere else to learn those fields. Our forum may not cater for Jihad related discussion (academic or non-academic), but we do not discourage you from learning about this important facet of deen from mustanad Ulama.

... it is for this reason we have decided sunniforum.com will not cater for any jihad related discussions (rule 2.23)

Sometimes, some discussions come in grey area and active mods at that time let is pass by. But if another mod see it against the above rule, he would take action.
