    Default Preparation for Hajj

    ASA,

I'm considering doing Hajj within the next year, but I want to read a definitive guide on what is involved and how to prepare for it. I don't really speak enough arabic to just go "over there" and wing it (just what I had to learn while serving), so I'd like to read up in advance.

    Any recommendations on reading material?

    Thanks i advance.

    Assalamu alaikum,

I highly highly highly recommend listening to Sh. Hussein Abdul Sattar's lectures on hajj and umrah. He also includes a hajj handbook - http://sacredlearning.org/hajj-umrah...ayout=category

I had the opportunity to make umrah with only a month's notice, and listening to these lectures over and over again greatly helped me prepare.

He also just returned from umrah, so several of his last general talks have been on the subject of visiting the holy cities - http://sacredlearning.org/general-talks?layout=category
