Re: doing nafl hajj and umrah when fellow muslims are slaughtered homeless starving
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We share the pain and suffering of our Muslim brethren around the world and continue to pray for their security. The Ummah should make an effort to help those who are suffering at the hand of various calamities in whatever way possible.
While the above is the continuous desire of every mu’min, it will not invalidate other ibādāt. Salah, Sawm, Hajj or Zakah, whether obligatory or nafl will be permissible. In essence, nafl ibadāt will become more desired so that through the barakah of these ibādāt we can beseech Allah to lift the calamities from our suffering brethren. If Allah affords someone an opportunity to visit the blessed land of Makkah and Madinah for nafl hajj or umrah, then they should make most of their time to make abundant du‘ā’s for the whole ummah and their plight.
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
