The Prophet´s (pbuh) father´s name

Hello,

how come that the Prophet´s father was named Abdullah if before Muhammad´s (pbuh) coming, there was ignorace in Arabia?

The Prophet Muhammad's parents were Muslims.

The Arabs were the descendants of Abraham (pbuh) through his son Ismael (pbuh). The Arabs had been worshipping Allah since Ismael (pbuh). The only problem was that other idols were introduced. Thus the Arabs continued worshipping Allah but they associated partners with Him.
