First read about tawassul then comment upon me, read some good books from islamhouse dot com.
The tawassul has different types and different rulings, some are Kufur, and some are Haram, some are sunnat.
(sorry if I translated it weirdly)
1- Tawassul by His Names and Attributes (Sunnat and Highly recommended Tawassul)
2- Tawassul by your Feebleness, debility (Sunnat and Highly recommended Tawassul)
3- Tawassul by Supplication of a
LIVING person (Sunnat, Sunnat of Pious Caliph and recommended Tawassul)
4- Tawassul by Your Good Deeds (Sunnat)
5- Tawassul of Crypto-Creation (Pseudo-Deed) (for details read Muftis Sahab's 5th category of Tawassul)(it is VERY weak but positive Taweel of Mufti Taqi Uthmani and Hazart Thavi r.a. for 6th # Tawassul
b/c they are against the Tawassul of Creation which very good thing) (Highly unacceptable, b/c it is very feeble Taweel, leads to Bidat)
6- Tawassul of Creation by using his name in your supplication TO ALLAH (whether living or dead, Prophet or Angle) (Bidat)
7- Tawassul of Creation (Dead or Absent) by requesting them to Ask Allah for you (Haram, Almost Shirk or VERY SUSCEPTIBLE TO Shirk) (this is narrated in VERY VERY Wahiyyate, Mawdhoo' and Munkir ul Matan riwayyat)
8- Tawassul of Creation by requesting the Creation (believing that they have partial or GIVEN authorities) (Kufur, Zindiqiyate, Barelviate, Shiate......)
G F haddad, other deviant barevlis advocates haram tawassul which is "tawssul of creation"
My Sheikh Mufti Taqi Uthmani Sahab is against that tawssul, READ HIS ARTICLE WITH OPEN EYES.
Whether I'm deviant or not, Barelvis are ESTABLISHED Bidati or Heretic
ألا لعنة الله على الظالمين
فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا الجن ۱۸
so do not invoke with Allah anyone
عقيدته في توحيد الله وبيان التوسل الشرعي وإبطال التوسل البدعي:
(1) قال أبو حنيفة رحمه الله: «لا ينبغي لأحد أن يدعو الله إلا به والدعاء المأذون فيه المأمور به ما استفيد من قوله تعالى: {وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُوا الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَائِهِ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ} [الأعراف: 180] ... » (1).
(2) قال أبو حنيفة رحمه الله: «يكره أن يقول الداعي أسألك بحق فلان أو بحق أنبيائك ورسلك وبحق البيت الحرام والمشعر الحرام» (2).
(3) وقال أبو حنيفة: «لا ينبغي لأحد أن يدعو الله إلا به وأكره أن يقول بمعاقد العز من عرشك ، أو بحق خلقك»(3)
