1) Its your nafs, your lower self. Your nafs is what pulls you towards sins. Our nafs is a test that Allah has put inside of us to overcome. The Shaytaan will whisper in your heart to incite your nafs, causing you to be pulled towards sins. Once you get your nafs under control, everything else will be easy. Make plenty of dua', and whenever an evil thoughtcomes to mind immediately think of Allah.
2) Music is Haram. Please do not listen to the people who say "theres a difference of opinion", music is definitely haram and you must give it up. When someone gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah provides him with something equally good, or better than it.
3) Try to learn the English translation of what your reciting, it will help. If you know the English translations, then you can think of them in the back of your mind while reciting in Arabic, this will inshaAllah improve concentration in salah.
4) Start with the basics. Aqeedah (creed) which are the basics of Islam (i.e God is one, Angels, jinn, Prophets etc...). Then move onto to reading the English translation of Qur'an and seerah (Biography of Prophet ). Learn stories of Sahabah. Learn about ahadeeth and how they are applied to Islam. Finally, learn fiqh. Fiqh of salah, Fiqh of wudhu, fiqh of zakah etc...
