Penalties not mentioned in the Quran

Salam u alaikum brothers and sisters, my question is that we know that certain crimes and their punishments have been mentioned in the quran eg. hudood, but what about those sins whose punishments are not mentioned? we know they are haraam and if someone commits them then is it must for that person to present himself before a qazi for penalty? or are there such major sins which are between the man and Allah only?
