Zakat question

A person has been paying zakat for his land all these years as he intended to sell that land. Now suddenly an offer comes that his land be given for rent like for car parking. If he is to give the land in rent, how should the zakat be paid, i.e., should it be paid as usual as per the market value of the land or now that the land is given for rent, the zakat be paid only on the rent money?

You will pay the zakat on the income generated through rent and not the value of the land.
