    Default Radio Ramadhan

    Assalamu Alaikum,

At the moment I listen to sunrise radio on 1458am in the morning at suhur time and at iftar..but its not an islamic radio station as such, the slots for ramadhan are about 15 minutes and then the usual radio programmes resume.

Anyway my question is do any of you know of any radio stations for ramadhan that are in the london area (preferably one I can access on a conventional radio rather than the internet). Jazakallah khair.

    Assalamu Alaikum.

    Assalamoalaykum...

There are a few in London but I don't know the frequencies.

BTW... I think it is better to listen to silence rather than to listen to Sunrise because i'm sure they have music and if not in the actual programs, then surely in the adverts between programs? And music spiritually harms our hearts and just like we protect our mouths from eating whilst fasting we have to protect our ears from music and our tongues from lies and backbiting etc...

    Assalmualaikum

Have just checked and it does exist..Seems ok but didn't listen long enough to catch the ads i'm afraid, and if are musical then not really my kinda thing but am sure it's an improvement from sunrise which i'm guessing is a musical radio station?!Just thought i'd let you jnow and if you don't have this in your area then you can usually purchase a transmitter from your local mosque in London, they provide you with frequencies from various mosques in the area and you can hear adhaan, salaah etc and many have Quraan recitation or talks during the day. If no such thing exists in your area then am sorry but hope this helps..Tke cre and hope rest of Ramadhaan goes well for you sis,
    Fi Amanillah,

    Assalaamu 'alaikum

Radio Ramadhan is running across the whole of the UK this year. You can tune in online by going to: www.radioramadan.org or listen on the radio by going to: 87.7FM

    Hope this helps inshaAllah.

    Wassalaamu 'alaikum

If you would like to listen to excellent programmes/discources on Deen then you can visit www.radioislam.co.za they have audio streaming via their web page.
Obviously you would not be able to go with the salaat and azaan times because it is a South Africa Radio station.

For Ramadhaan we have Mufti Ilyas from www.alislam.co.za coming on 3 times a week to answere our questions over the air.
There are 3 Khatam-al-Quraans running with a Para a day during Ramadhaan. Over and above that there are many other excellent shows!!!

Another excellent radio station which broadcasts deen programmes all year round is Channel Islam. You need a special radio to tune into them (see the website for details). The audio stream for it is:
    http://www.channelislam.com/broadcas...streamlink.php
they have live Taraweeh audio from Saudi on as well.

As for the the Radio Ramadans in the UK, the full list can be found here:
    http://ramadan.co.uk/index1.php?page=Radio_Ramadans.htm

Personally I only listen to Channel Islam online or Radioevery now and then and thats it as they are run by the very organised South African Muslims, Mashallah.
