The Muhaddith of our Era, Hadhrat Shaykh Yunus Jonpuri (daamat barakatuhum) in the UK

Alhamdulillah, it is an honour for the Muslims of the UK once again that the great Muhaddith of our era, Hadhrat Shaykh Muhammad Yunus Jonpuri (daamat barakatuhum) has blessed us with his presence once again. He has dedicated his whole life for the sake of knowledge, in particular the hadith sciences and Sahih al-Bukhari, which he has been teaching at Mazahirul Uloom, Saharanpur, for over forty years, after his shaykh and teacher, the great Muhaddith and Imam of the last century, Hadhrat Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhalwi (may Allah illuminate his grave) appointed him to teach in his place. Many of our great scholars, both in the UK and across the globe, have studied under him.

Hence, I would encourage everyone to avail of this opportunity and attend the programmes in which Hadhrat Shaykh Muhammad Yunus Jonpuri will be delivering his lessons on the Prophetic hadith.

Alhamdulillah, Shaykh Muhammad Yunus Jonpuri (daamat barakatuhum) came to Walsall this morning to Bilal Academy, where he delivered the first lesson of Sahih al-Bukhari to the final year students. Thereafter, he went to Masjid al-Farouq where Shaykh al-Islam Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani (daamat barakatuhum) came to meet him. Both of the akabir sat and spoke about a number of different things. Shaykh Yunus Sahib had not met Mufti Sahib before this, but Mufti Sahib had seen Shaykh Yunus Sahib once before in Makka Mukarrama. Mufti Sahib requested Shaykh Yunus Sahib for ijaza of the musalsal bil awwaliyya hadith, to which he read the hadith and granted him ijaza.

It was truly a joyous occasion to see two great luminaries and erudite scholars of our time meet in such a manner. May Allah lengthen their shadow over us all. Amin.
