    Default Adopting niqaab

I have been thinking for a long time about adopting niqaab. I have read up about it and spoken at length to sisters I know that wear it. I am now convinced that it is mustahabb and so, insha'allah it will be very beneficial for me and will bring me closer to Allah subhana wa ta'alaa. Hubby has been dropping hints about it for a long time, so I know it will make him happy insha'allah. Anyway, I have made my decision and insha'allah will start wearing it as much as I possibly can from Ramadhan onwards, certainly for all religious activities and going out shopping, picking up the kids etc. There are a few situations, like family gatherings with non-mahrams present where it could be a bit awkward, as I come from a non-Muslim family, but the benefits far outweigh any negatives.

So I was wondering whether there are any other sisters considering adopting niqaab for Ramadhan and beyond? Perhaps we could encourage and support one another.

    Jazakallah Khayr.

May Allah grant you steadfastness and the ability to continue good deeds. There are a few of us here wearing niqab but most of the time we're lurking around the sisters section. Any questions or concerns you have, please ask and once you get access, we'll continue to encourage and support.

Firstly, to the sisters that have offered me encouragement to wear niqaab.

So an update from me insha'allah. After a few successful trial outings before Ramadhan, on Friday I started wearing it whenever I go out . The really amazing thing is how it makes me feel so much closer to Allah subhana wa ta'alaa. Knowing that I am following a sunnah gives me such strength and an amazing boost to my emaan. I feel so happy that I am immediately identified as a muslimah and feel so pleased to represent Islam - insha'allah it will lead to many dawah opportunities as a result.

To those that may speak of difficulty wearing the niqaab in the west, well I live in a part of London where it is not unusual and I have had no problems from wearing niqaab, only warmth so far, even in a couple of cases from non-muslims - may Allah subhana wa ta'alaa guide them to embrace Islam. I somehow feel like I am given a great deal more respect and at the same time feel so much more protected . My husband is delighted and though I would not describe him as a jealous type, I think he is very happy that I am protected from unwelcome leers and he has me all to himself! The children have just taken it in their stride and 7-years daughter is already asking if she can try on my niqaab

Anyway, I couldn't have has a better start and if anyone else is thinking of implementing more sunnahs in their life - as we all should be in this blessed month of Ramadhan - then have a careful think about niqaab. It could be one of the best decisions you ever make - it is feeling like that to me right now!

MashaALLAH Dear Sister for your Good Attempt. Please try to call the non-Muslims to Islam and try to be the role model for them. May ALLAH help you in Achieving your goal.

May Allah make it easier and easier for you. I also have a family member who will try out niqab for the first time properly this Ramadhan. Make dua she finds it as easy as you.

    Assalaamu'alaikum sister,

MashaAllah may Allah swt reward you abundantly and keep you steadfast in following the sunnah. I started wearing niqab a year ago and it has really changed my life for the better alhamdulillah. It's good to hear you have had a good start. There may be some tough times ahead with it but never be discouraged, you have all the support here you need inshaAllah so never feel on your own.
The messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "The servant speaks words, the consequences of which he does not realize, and for which he is sent down into the depths of the Fire further than the distance between the east and the west."
