While it may be true that Ibn Jawzi did do tawil... You forgot to mention that Ibn Taymiyyah argued with the tongue of the mutaklimeen... Yes he engaged in ilm Kalam. Not so sure the early
hanbalis would have agreed with his approach... So Ibn Taymiyyah wasn't really so Hanbali after all... And you forgot to mention Ibn Taymiyyah likening Allah to the moon... Which makes
him among the mujassimah...

How would "Engaging in Kalaam" remove someone from the Hanaabilah in creed, ESPECIALLY when he wasn't using it to CONFIRM his beliefs, rather to negate the beliefs of the Asha'irah....?

Besides there were some Hanaabilah who used some Kalaam, but does that mean it took them away from being Hanbali? No, because for the most part they still didn't do Ta'weel of the Sifaat, even if they went far in negating things that are not explicitly negated in the Quran and Sunnah.

But again, I never said Ibn Jawzi wasn't Hanbali, I said in terms of the majority of his beliefs in Attributes he wasn't while in other aspects, and in fiqh he WAS. More specifically in that he confirmed Allah speaks with sound and letters, the likes of which all the Hanaabilah believed.

I didn't forget to mention it, it's already on my blog elsewhere. In which case he didn't liken Allah to the moon, so there was no need to mention it again.

Besides how would that be Tajseem, and not Tashbeeh or Tamtheel?

I don't think he is guilty of taqiyya since he does not claim to be Deobandi. He has been vocal about his opposition to the ulama-e-Deoband DB. He is one of those madhhabi Salafis. They are a bit more accommodating of madhhabs (so they're not like the Ahle Hadees of Pakistan) but take positions similar to them on issues of aqeedah.

The objective of the Shariah of Allah is to worship him correctly in order that one is allowed by his mercy and forgiveness to enter Paradise.
