So finally you agreed that SW contain stuffs which are inappropriate according to Islamic perspective. How can one lower their gaze when they saw images of females after each click (or pages) ?

Brother, you know better than me. Just visit the gallery of SW and you can see by yourself and I don't want to look at those images again and again

what about amr bil maruf and nahi anil munkar? relegated to bottom or working in parallel?
'lower and guard' is much harder to do when you do nothing to eradicate the causes of fitnah in society. brother shuayb is right. don't give it name of islam.

Nope, I didn't mean that, was saying in general ...
It's not a big deal of lowering a gaze. If you find a sister then lower it down. And if there are lot many pictures containing sisters then there is no need to watch that album. Simple!

I have seen all of the pictures and none of them have Alhamdulilah detracted me from the lowering the gaze & right path!

You know! it' so easy when we don't have anything bad infront of us. Ultimately we would be good being in the company of pious. If you really wanna test your Eman, go & test it by being with wring doers.

I am working over myself brother 24/7.

I am shocked to see that lowering & guard are difficult things to do :O

How could you say that? Seriously, I didn't get it.

And for SW, Alhamdulillah! when I visit their site my Eman becomes more stringer. Now, that must be shocking to you but it's true my dear & sweet brother.

Brother, just keep in mind that no one has same level of Eemaan what you has. The levels of Emaan differs from each other. And even it is not possible that everyone should think in the way what you are telling.

I have not seen any 'Ulema giving this type of advice regarding lowering gaze.

And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and it is an evil way. (17:32)

unfortunately your personal experiences do not count if they propagate something which the ulema have advised again.
what i said regarding lower and guard was that there is a limit to which one can lower and guard and still function in society without disappearing into the woods. this is why islam has a system of government so that unnecessary burden doesnt fall on Muslims (who wish to preserve their emaan and chastity). islam is not a personal religion as the apologists espouse.

A three-member delegation of Salamworld – an upcoming social and business networking portal for the Muslim world – including the Secretary General of its Executive Board, Nedim Kaya, Spokesperson Yavuz Selim Murat and member Muhammad Abdullah Bidzhi visited Institute of Policy Studies on 29 June 2012 to apprise different stakeholders in Pakistan about the exciting web portal.
Salamworld is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey and its beta version is expected to be launched next month.
It may be mentioned that DG-IPS Khalid Rahman had visited Istanbul last February to attend an international conference hosted by Salamworld, which was attended by leaders, scholars, celebrities and media and IT professionals from more than 30 Muslim countries across the world.
The site will be available in eight languages: English, Arabic, Turkish, Urdu, and Russian, with others to be added later. Its creators want to tap into the large number of Muslim internet users, presently around 350 million, and hope to have 50 million users in five years.

The major difference between Salamworld and other social networks will be the filtering of “offensive” content like pornography, and anything inciting terrorist activity or human rights violations.
“The content that is being used on other social networks is not very secure and full of haram [forbidden material],” Nedim Kaya, told the IPS team members in a presentation during his visit to the Institute.
IPS also coordinated meetings of the Salamworld delegation with a number of top Pakistani social and religious leaders in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad such as Abdus Sattar Edhi, founder of Edhi Trust; Dr Amjad Saqib, founder of Akhuwat Foundation, Professor Dr Sahibzada Sajid-ur-Rahman, DG Dawah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Dr Idrees Zubair of Al-Huda International along with a number of top professionals of IT sector and social media in Pakistan.

Cyber space presents new opportunities for effective communication: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Since its inception, Minhaj-ul-Quran International has employed modern means of information and communication to spread its message across the globe in an effective manner. It has been opposed to traditional methods of communication, which have become obsolete and redundant in view of fast-paced changes in the cyber world. As more and more people enter the cyber space and global residents, it is imperative that those working for peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony also modify their approaches in line with emerging trends in the field of communication technologies.

These views were expressed by Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI’s Federal Council, during his meeting with a Turkish delegation of SalamWorld, which called on him in Lahore today. Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Brig. (r) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, G.M. Malik, Brig. (r) Obaidullah Ranjha, Raja Jamil Ajmal, Abdul Sattar Minhajian and other leaders of MQI were also present on the occasion.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that a vast network of educational institutions set up by MQI was quenching the thirst of hundreds of thousands of students. He said that it was about time that we transitioned from traditional religious mode of education to establishment of contemporary institutions capable of meeting the challenges of this age. He said that unless this happed, we would continue to stay in the backwater.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that blend of classical and modern education could provide a winning combination for scholars to cope with challenges.
