Friends Problem * Help Need * Jazakallah

Hope everyone is in good health.

This is a question asked by my close friend he wanted a solution so he asked me to put it up.

Few months ago he met a girl instantly he did the correct thing and asked her hand in marriage, but things didnt go to well, couple of months later he got engaged to another girl. Now as he is nearing to his Nikkah date, for the past few weeks he cant seem to forget the other girl the other girl has also agreed to marry him now. Should he break of the engagement, or is this shaytaan trying to ruin things?

He should perform istikhara. If the parents are involved, he should tell them. Otherwise, there is no problem in preventing the marriage from happening and marrying the other girl. There is no legitimacy of engagements as far as contracts are concerned.

This happend to me!! and I continued to do istikhara and let fate take over. I arranged a brother who I thought would match her and mashallah they are happily married (last time I checked). It wasn't easy and told myself life is such! Why cause difficulty for a sister who is of a suitable age to start a married life!
